On Thursday the Center of Excellence, in partnership with the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA) and the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC), hosted a job fair at AJAC’s site in Kent. Over 35 jobseekers met with a dozen employers hiring production workers, skilled machinists and back-office professionals.
This successful event showed both the intense hiring need from PNAA members and a desire from jobseekers to explore the rewarding world of aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
Teri Reade, Employer Facilitator for Everett Community College’s manufacturing training programs, said, “It was a great chance to re-connect with hiring employers. Even more importantly, I made new connections with 7 individuals at three other Aerospace employers. All three new contacts have the potential to hire Everett’s Composites, Machining and Mechatronics graduates.”
