Manufacturing Day Is October 4th

Seven MFG Day events set to take place across Washington this Friday.

MFG Day, organized nationally by the Manufacturing Institute, is the industry’s biggest annual opportunity to inspire, shift perceptions and build the manufacturing workforce of today and tomorrow. For years Washington State has played a leading role in promoting the day, with manufacturers, apprenticeships and education opening their doors to showcase good careers and the inspiration that comes from making useful things.

Events in Washington include industry opening their doors, from Timken in Ferndale to Dewils in Vancouver. Edmonds College’s Advanced Manufacturing Skills Center is set to showcase programs at their Paine Field site, a neighbor of the Center of Excellence. Edmonds will offer facility tours, demonstrations and views of their newest lab, a real retrofitted Boeing 767 fuselage.

Events across the country range from shop floor tours, presentations at schools and manufacturing expos, showcasing  modern manufacturing careers to students, emerging workers, educators and parents.
