Scholarships are a great way help pay for tuition, books, materials and more. But often they’re hard to find or have varying closing dates and requirements. Recognizing our role to serve students and educational institutions across Washington, the Center of Excellence is pleased to run down some current and available scholarships to students at Washington’s Community and Technical Colleges.
The Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) awards scholarships to students seeking careers in aircraft electronics and aviation maintenance, along with technicians from companies that are AEA members.
Scholarships range between $1,000 and $3,000 and are generally available to high school seniors and current college students. Review a complete rundown of available scholarships at aerocareers.net and learn more about the AEA at their website.
The Center of Excellence is a proud partner of the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA). As part of PNAA’s commitment to Washington’s future workforce, scholarships are available, at a minimum of $1,000, to students enrolled in participating aerospace programs. Since PNAA began their scholarship program they have raised nearly $400,000 and helped more than 200 students reach their goals of entering the aerospace industry.
Programs including Aviation Maintenance Technician, Aerospace Composite Technician, Aviation (Air Traffic Control, Aircraft Dispatch, Pilot) and Electronics Technician are eligible for funding, with students required to maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher. Under the tagline ‘Scholarships Change Lives’, Center of Excellence partner Women in Aviation International (WAI) will open their general scholarship cycle beginning in July. Scholarships are available for a variety of aviation and aerospace disciplines, for different ages and different stages of careers. Scholarships are available to current members of WAI. Here at the Center of Excellence we will continue to track and share scholarships as they’re announced so please be sure to check back. Good luck with your applications!
