FAA Announces Aviation Workforce Development Grants

On Monday, the FAA released Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Round 3 (2023) of the Aviation Workforce Development (AWD) grants for Aircraft Pilots and Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers. The program, created by Congress in the 2018 FAA reauthorization bill, authorized $10 million in funding annually for pilot and maintenance workforce development programs.

The NOFOs can be found at:

Aircraft Pilots NOFO

Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers NOFO

The grant program will award recipients in increments up to $500k and applications are due August 16, 2023.

The FAA will host a public information session to assist interested applicants on Tuesday, July 25, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. ET.

The free live webinar will help potential applicants better understand the AWD grant programs and the requirements for applying for an AWD grant. Agenda topics will include an overview of the program, a walkthrough of each NOFO, and common mistakes to avoid.
