The Wood Fab Technician performs a variety of duties and multiple uses of different skillsets. Technicians are required to follow detailed instructions carefully, in constructing large scale and detailed wood framework/bases for putty/foam/wet- lay application. Mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight and the ability to perform repetitive tasks in the operation of pneumatic and power tools is required. Cross section layout, pattern sheeting and constructing mirror images are daily tasks. Operation of KOMO Router and NC KOMO as well as advanced Assembly procedures is included in various procedures of the Wood Fab Tech.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Wood Fab Technician:

Attention to detail and quality is required
Reads and understands blue prints, isometric drawings and work orders
Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads
Must be able to understand and comply with Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function
Set up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction
Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition
Knowledge of common hand tools
Performs on the job training, AS9100 and Nadcap training and other training as required
Works in other Cells to support Production as required, ie; Mold Fab, Assembly, Mill Cells

Proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency may be required due to access to sensitive data and our coverage under EAR and ITAR regulations.


High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred.


Job duties may include one or more of the following:

Janicki Certified, Overhead Crane, Forklift and Manlift Operation (as separate Certifications)
Knowledge and operation of hand tools
Operation of Pneumatic and Power tools, drills, grinders, saws, impact drivers, sanders, air nailers
Cross section layout as well as assembly
Pattern sheeting
KOMO Router operation and NC KOMO Router operation (as a separate Certification)
Construct large scale and detailed wood framework/bases for putty/foam/wet- lay application
Ability to construct mirror images from blueprints
Advanced Assembly Procedures, will include detailed hardware installation
Block foam building
Various bonding procedures for a variety of materials
Familiar with the use/cleaning of shop spray guns and equipment
Spray application of Foam (may require a separate Certification)
Prep and Application of Chop, Initial Putty Application, Vacuum Integrity Spray (as a separate Certification)
Performs Wet Lay applications including use of Wet Lay gun and maintenance
Crate and fixture building for staging and shipping
Performs machine and hand sanding, grinding as required
