The Operations Planner is responsible production schedules at the cell level, typically critical resource planning. The Operations Planner will work closely with Operations Managers, Cell Managers, Project Managers, Program Planners and the Master Scheduler to insure schedule integrity of critical resources. The Operations Planner may also create detailed op sheets for a variety of production process and assist in budgeting of production activities.

The following essential job functions are performed:

  • Fields daily schedule, budget questions, and concerns from Program Management and Operations Management; understands our business systems, procedures and processes and how they are integrated; Level Loads cells within assigned Cell Group to maintain detailed schedule status at cell level; responsible for material reconciliation for accounting purposes
  • Maintains project schedules in Company PDM using templates and calculators or based on released MBOM
  • Communicates with PMs, MEs, and Operations Managers about schedule needs including, but not limited to: flowing down project information from one part to another, linking work products and documents to activities, making PDFs of documents, and running work orders when needed
  • Runs reports and graphs i.e. Schedule Reports, Cell Performance Reports, etc.; facilitates compilation of lessons learned information in at the cell level
  • Meets with Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operations Managers to provide schedule support and status
  • Maintains an understanding of Supply Chain Management from raw materials through end item deliverable
  • Keeps up to date with the activities associated with each process we perform; must possess knowledge of the materials and scheduled duration that will be needed for these processes and an understanding of each cells capability; involving visiting each cell when possible to watch the work in progress, learn about the processes, and aid in updating the status of each project
  • Monitors cell schedules production’s ability to meet customer deadlines
  • Uses Unigraphics or Catia (CAD/CAM software)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

Proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency may be required due to access to sensitive data and our coverage under EAR and ITAR regulations.


A Bachelor’s Degree is required with an emphasis on Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Management. 1-2 years’ experience as a scheduler in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Previous experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera is preferred. Must be familiar with a variety of the fields' concepts, practices and procedures; must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Incumbent must possess the ability to work both independently, and in a group setting. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.


Computers; software such as Primavera, SAP, Access, Outlook, Unigraphics or Catia, and Excel


Requires deep concentration, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
