The Level I Stress Analyst is responsible for performing engineering analysis on stress critical designs, however, all their work will be reviewed and approved by a stress mentor. The incumbent coordinates with design engineers to establish the controlling load cases and provide accurate stress analysis under supervision of a Stress Analyst mentor. The incumbent understands and implements Janicki Industries procedures, standards, and expectations. Successful Level I Stress Analysts may become eligible for role advancement in the Stress Analyst job hierarchy, with additional associated opportunities and responsibilities, at the discretion of the supervisor. The following essential job functions are performed as a Level I Stress Analyst:
Produces stress analysis reports for stress critical designs
Reports progress and review work regularly with a Stress Analysis mentor
Performs design and drafting support to the processing of a requested product
Builds FEMs (Finite Element Model) and performs FEM analysis with mentor oversight
Performs other duties as assigned

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Education may be substituted with equivalent industry experience.
Recommended one to three years JI or industry experience as a Design Engineer
Must have excellent communication skills through written, verbal, and graphical mediums in the English language
Proficiency with CATIA, NX CAD, and Microsoft Office software is required
Experience using FEM and engineering calculation software on a range of projects is require

Completes Stress Analyst On-the-job training
Provide analysis support for a variety project types
Provide basic design services within NX and CATIA

Must be able to work at keyboard for extended periods of time. Must be able to perform physical tasks on the production floor on occasion. May involve use of tools or climbing on parts. Physical hazards such as being in the immediate area with forklifts and other heavy equipment unavoidable. Chemical hazards in production work areas unavoidable. Able to handle demanding schedules.
