The winners included educational and industry partners:

Mantz works primarily with WA State Community Colleges to build alignment between Aerospace Industry training requirements and Industrial Skills training programs offered at the CTC’s.
Bret Hinton, The Boeing Company – Industry Partner of the Year 2014
Why he’s a winner! He has had the privilege to help many Washington State students enter the aerospace manufacturing industry by working with Skill Centers, High Schools and Community and Technical Colleges to develop aerospace and manufacturing curriculum.
Amy Hatfield, Olympic College – Dean of the Year 2014
Why she’s a winner! She has worked with 40 educational providers across the state to ensure educational opportunities for low-income students.
Michael Werner, Granite Falls High School – Teacher of the Year 2014
Why he’s a winner! At Granite Falls High School, he organized the first ever all girl team that designed, built and successfully raced a prototype diesel car in the International Shell Eco-Marathon. Among many media features the “ShopGirls” were highlighted as a bright spot in CTE education by US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, in his speech to Harvard University “Pathways to Prosperity.” Now in their sixth year, members from both Eco-car teams at the school “ShopGirls” and “UrbanAutos” (the co-ed team) were also the first high school ever to take a car they build to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, not for speed but for alternative fuel testing and educational outreach to middle school students.
